Shanghai Yanxiaotang — packaging design, month by month

Context

Shanghai Yanxiaotang (上海焱小棠商业管理有限公司) works across operations, cultural-creative products, planning, marketing and overseas business. Since April 2025 it has sent us packaging to design, a batch every month.

Challenge

• Every month brings different products, often for different brands, so the design has to fit the product in front of it rather than a house style of ours.
• Everything leaves as a dieline a factory can print from, with panels, folds, glue flaps and bleed in the right place the first time.

What we did

Design

• Gift boxes — an anniversary cake box built around a large "37" with a building drawn across it, in two colourways; a Year of the Horse pastry box; a gift set for LabConnect.
• Food packs — a biscuit tube, coffee and drip-bag coffee, dorayaki, Longjing tea pastries, grain and yam cakes, and a blind-box ice cream.
• Labels and print — product labels, A5 cards and the company's own business card.

Outcome

• More than a year of monthly packaging delivered, and still running.
