How much does SEO cost in Malaysia now that AI search is in the mix?
Direct answer: Published prices in Malaysia run from a few thousand ringgit for an entry package to RM30,000 a month for a content-heavy retainer; what the money should buy is a fixed keyword set, pages that answer it directly, and a monthly report of what moved — the same work whether the answer is read by Google, Bing or an AI assistant.

Local agencies now publish their prices: entry packages from a little over RM2,000, retainers of RM8,000 to RM30,000 a month for content-heavy programmes. The spread is content volume and how contested the keywords are, not a different kind of SEO. Whatever the number, the scope should be written down before the invoice: which keywords are tracked, how many pieces of content a month and in which languages, what technical work is included, and what the monthly report will show. "AI SEO" does not change the invoice. It changes what we check before we send it: is the answer in the first paragraph of the HTML, does the structured data describe exactly what is visible, and can a crawler read the text without clicking. Those are the conditions under which an AI answer cites a page, and they are the same conditions Google has rewarded for years.
When this matters: Before you sign any SEO retainer. Ask what will change on the pages, which keywords are being tracked, and what the monthly report will show. If the answers are vague, the price does not matter.
